So, You want to know how traffic signals really work. What really happens in the field when you put it on paper. Then come join us for "HANDS ON TRAFFIC SIGNALS 101". Seating is availble for 11 additional people!
This session will begin with basic traffic signal workings, ring structure, min green, peds, maxs and mins. What happens when I do this?
We will then move to the hardware. The signal cabinet and all of its devices. You will get to do this for real as a cabinet, controller and working signal indications will be on site. What is a load switch? What about a flash relay? These items will be availble for you to see and touch with explantion of functions.
Then we will work with the controller. Thirteen controllers will be available for participants to practice with. Can you do coordination? Can you do free plans? Will it work? A rare opportunity to play with the actual equipment and see what happens. Can you make the controller do what you want?
If you want to know these things then come join us and get the the opportunity to try what you always wondered about with no risk.
Traffic Control Corporation (TCC) has graciously offered to to provide time and equipment for you "play" with at no risk to the public. Dave MacDonald of TCC and Tom Evans of TREKK Design Group will team together and provide you a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with the equipment that exists in the field.
