Cycling is a great mode of transportation for recreation, excercise, work and other trips!  We invite you to learn more about two new Bicycle Master Plans in the Kansas City area and share in the discussion.

The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) has recently completed the first draft of the Greater Kansas City Regional Bikeway Plan in coordination with the Transportation Outlook 2040 LRTP.

The Regional Bikeway Plan provides a vision of more than 2,000 miles of connected regional roadway corridors that build on current infrastructure and help ensure that new investments provide critical connections for both on- and off-road bikeway systems.

In addition, the City of Overland Park, KS has recently completed their Bicycle Master Plan.  The Plan includes a mix of bike lanes and buffered bike lanes on major thoroughfares, bike lanes and sharrows on neighborhood streets, signed bike routes, and expansion of the existing trail system

Presentors:

Aaron Bartlett, Senior Transportation Planner, MARC

Brian Shields, City Traffic Engineer, Overland Park, KS
